Session Format
Two Strikes Tournament - Singles
One loss gives you another chance. Two losses eliminate you.
- How double elimination works
- One loss gives you another chance. Two losses eliminate you.
- All teams start in the winners’ bracket. Win your match and you advance in that bracket. Lose and you move to the lower bracket, where you can still work your way to the championship.
- In the lower bracket, winners advance and are joined at designated stages by teams dropping from the winners’ bracket. A second match loss eliminates a team.
- How the finals work
- 1. Winners’ bracket final: The winner advances directly to the grand final, still unbeaten. The loser drops into the lower-bracket final. 2. Lower-bracket final: Two teams with one loss each compete for the other grand-final place. The loser finishes third. 3. Grand final: The unbeaten winners’ bracket champion faces the lower-bracket champion. If the unbeaten team wins, they take the title. If the lower-bracket champion wins, both teams now have one loss, so a deciding reset game determines the champion.
- Scoring
- Matches are best of three games to 11 points, win by two. The grand-final reset, if required, is one game to 15 points, win by two.
- Elimination is based on match losses, not individual games lost within a match.
- The same format applies to singles, with individual players taking the place of teams.
