Session Format
Winners and Grinners
A casual paddle-stacking format where winners and grinners queue separately for the next available court.
- Games are generally played to 15 using rally scoring to keep turnover fast.
- There is usually a table or spot with one side marked Winners and the other marked Grinners.
- A token sits on one side and moves to the other side every time a game finishes.
- Players coming off court place their paddles on the Winners side if they won, or on the Grinners side if they lost, stacked so it is clear who placed their paddle first.
- When the side with the token has 4 paddles, those 4 players take the next available court and the token moves to the other side.
- The 4 players going on court organise partners and opponents themselves, trying to avoid duplicate games.
- This format works best with an even number of players and needs a bit more supervision when the number of players is odd.
- Scores are not recorded in this format.
